Blind Baking Pie Crust
Instructions
- Prepare a baking dish with pie crust. I tend to avoid folding the excess under depending on the pie dish as it can weigh it down and the pie crust can "melt" down the side. If you have a pie dish with a thick edge, fold the edges and lay them on top of the edge.
- Preheat oven to 400.
- While the oven is preheating - put your pie dish (with pie crust) in the freezer.
- When the oven is heated, pull the crust out and poke some holes.
- Now place aluminum foil on the pie crust and up the edges and fill with pie weights (sugar, dry beans/rice also work great).
- Throw the pan in the oven for about ten minutes.
- Remove the weights and foil and bake for another 2 minutes!
